Bill Harrison Presentation “Wonderfully Odd AZ IV” and Dinner

Arizona is a delightful state filled with an eclectic conglomeration of exceptional people, colorful places, and odd things. John Dillinger, notorious bank robber and Public Enemy #1 in 1934, was wanted in seven states and by the FBI, but where was he captured? Tucson! The Depression Era also introduced to Arizona a group of attractive, hard-working ladies who became famous as the Arizona Ramblers Softball Team. They won national championships in 1940, 1947 and 1948. Five of their players were All-Americans. These women brought to softball something the men never could have supplied – glamour. They gave the game a beauty treatment, without robbing it of any of its skill or thrills. In 1949, 1.3 million fans cheered for these fierce competitors. This humorous and lively presentation will also investigate some of the strangest laws still on the books in Arizona. Also, on our agenda is a cautious introduction to our very own beloved monster! Another Outstanding Odd Program not to be missed! Before the presentation we will be serving Taco Salad and dessert.
